OVERVIEW

AN INVITATION TO ATTEND THE CONGRESS

Dear Healthcare Executive, Clinician and Board Leader,

We are pleased to invite you to attend the National Congress on Healthcare Clinical Innovations, Quality Improvement and Cost Containment, www.CostContainmentCongress.com, October 26 - 28, 2011, at the Grand Hyatt, Washington, DC.

The Congress is sponsored by the Bipartisan Policy Center, www.BipartisanPolicy.org, and the Aspen Institute, www.AspenInstitute.org, supported by media partners, Harvard Health Policy Review and Health Affairs, and features a special preconference session "Health Reform and the New Healthcare Environment: Challenges and Opportunities for Healthcare Boards of Directors and Executives" sponsored by the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA).

As a healthcare leader you face an extraordinarily challenging environment: the implementation of health reform, national economic malaise, potential looming reimbursement cuts and quickly evolving insurance and delivery systems. At the same time you enjoy a very real opportunity during your stewardship to improve the nation's health system by facilitating clinical innovation, improving quality and containing healthcare costs.

We have convened many of the nation's most innovative leaders and practitioners for this three-day Congress to share ideas and best practices. We hope that you will join this collaborative dialogue on how to make your health system better.

We invite teams of healthcare executives, board leaders, clinicians, chief medical officers, chief innovation officers and others engaged in the effort to improve our healthcare system to join us and to share their ideas as to how we can work together to make healthcare in America the best that it can be.

The Aspen Institute and the Bipartisan Policy Center

Following the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), healthcare in the United States has officially entered into an important next phase of health reform implementation: clinical innovation and cost containment. Yet innovation is not easy and trying to implement innovative reforms while containing the cost of health care is probably the most difficult task at hand for leaders. On the cutting edge of developments yet unfolding, the National Congress on Clinical Innovations and Cost Containment is proud to provide detailed, actionable and need-to-know information on the latest innovations, best practices, the role of regulators and Government in implementing the provisions of the PPACA and the future of delivery system reform models, such as home-based care, patient-centered medical homes and accountable care organizations. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and engage with experts, thought leaders and actual agents of change from clinical settings, State and Federal government, health plans, employers and more.
